How To Install WordPress on 000Webhost Step by Step Tutorial
Installation of WordPress on 000Webhost is usually done by newbie bloggers who don’t want to invest much money in their blogs. WordPress is a great software for bloggers because it provides lot of customization and there are large number of plugins available there for WordPress. So, for bloggers WordPress should be the ideal choice. As a free hosting provider 000webhost has many features which are appreciable. Newbie users usually don’t know the process of WordPress installation on 000webhost, as they don’t provide automatic installation feature to free users. That’s the reason I have seen many new comers asking How to Install WordPress on 000Webhost? Today I will try to explain each and every step with screen shots. Lets start installing WordPress on 000Webhost.
How to Install WordPress on 000Webhost
Step 1: Important Downloads
First of all we need to download some important files and software, which will be needed in this process.
1.1 – Download WordPress - Go to WordPress.Org and click on the button “Download WordPress 3.4.2″ and save the .zip file to your desktop.
1.2 – Download Filezilla (FTP Client) - Filezilla software will be used to upload WordPress software files to your 000webhost’s account. Go to Filezilla and click on “Download Now” button.
Step 2: Signup for 0000Webhost Account
2.1 - Go to 000Webhost.com free Web hosting Order Page and enter your registration details.
2.2 - Choose your Free subdomain, your name, email, password and enter captcha. Complete registration and check out your email for Email Confirmation link. And activate your account by clicking on that activation link in email.
2.3 - Now your domain is up and working. Now you need to upload WordPress on your Hosting account to install WordPress.
Step 3: Creating MySQL Database for WordPress
3.1 - Now as you are logged in to your 000Webhost account, Click on the “Go to cPanel” written after your website address, at “List of Your Domains” page as shown in below image.

3.2 - On cPanel page, scroll down and click on “MySQL” below “Software / Services”.

3.3 - Then you will be on “Manage MySQL Databases”. Here you need to create a database for your WordPress installation. Fill up details in the form like shown in the below screenshot. Enter MySQL Database name and User name as “wp” and enter a strong password twice. You can write these information on a notepad. After entering information like below image, click on the “Create Database” button.

3.4 - After that, you will see that “Your MySQL Account will be created in 1 Minute” and you will see some details of your MySQL Account. Copy and save these details into a text file for use in next step. Now you have created your MySQL Database for your WordPress Installation.

Step 4: Preparing WordPress Files for Uploading
4.1 - Unzip/Extract the downloaded (Step 1.1) WordPress folder. Open the “WordPress-3.4.2″ folder and the open“WordPress” folder. Here find the file named wp-config-sample.php and rename it to wp-config.php
4.2 - Right click on wp-config.php >>> Open with >>> Notepad.
4.3 - Scroll down a bit and you will see this piece of code:

4.4 - Now it is the time to edit this code. The Database information which you have saved in Step 3.4 will be used here.
4.5 - These four types of information in that saved data which are : MySQL Host, MySQL Database, MySQL User andMySQL Password will be used at the place of localhost, database_name_here, username_here andpassword_here. Check below screenshot after this editing. Make sure you have not changed any other thing there.Ctrl+S to save all changes.

Step 5: Upload WordPress Files to 000Webhost
5.1 - Install and open Filezilla client which you have downloaded in step 1.2.
5.2 - Go to the cPanel of your 000webhost‘s website account. Scroll down and Click on “View FTP details” in the“Files” section.

5.3 - There you will see FTP Login and Upload details. Leave this page open and save these information in a text file also, for future use. This information will be used to Login to your Hosting account using Filezilla FTP Client.
5.4 - Now open Filezilla FTP Client. You will need to enter Host, Username, Password and Port to connect Filezilla to your Web hosting account at 000webhost.
5.5 - You will be entering the information collected in step 5.3 in these fields and leave the port empty. Like this screenshot below. And click on the “Quick Connect” button.

5.6 - If you have entered every thing correct then within some seconds status show this message of “Directory Listing Successful”. You can see the below screenshot. Then click on the folder “Public_html” as shown in the below screenshot.

5.7 - Open the folder “Public_html” by double clicking on it. Delete both files which are there “.htaccess” and“default.php” by selecting them both and right click >>> delete.
5.8 - Now open the WordPress Folder on your desktop and select all files in it by pressing Ctrl+A. As shown in the below screen shot. And Select and Drag all these files in to the “Public_html” folder with the Filezille. as shown in the below screen shot.

5.9 - Now your files are being copied to your web hosting account. These will be almost 984 files which will take some time to upload on your server. So wait until these files get completely uploaded. You can see number of“Queued Files” at the bottom of Filezilla software.
Step 6: Installation of WordPress:
6.1 - After the uploading process has completed. Now you can install WordPress and create a Administrator account.
6.2 - Go to your website address in browser and add this after website url: /wp-admin/install.php and press enter.For example in my case, my website address was http://taimoorsultan.net76.net and I included this /wp-admin/install.php after the after the address and it becomes http://taimoorsultan.net76.net/wp-admin/install.php
6.3 - At that page, you can enter the details of your Administrator WordPress account. Enter Site Title, Username, Password and Email and click on Install WordPress.
6.4 - Congratulations, Your WordPress has been installed. And now you have a self hosted WordPress Blog which will allow you independence of posting. But you will need to take care of the 000webhost’s usage policy or they can suspend your hosting account.
